Every emerald begins somewhere

Boyacá, Colombia. Four levels down, the record of the stone is kept.

The declaration

This was never meant to be a commodity.

For centuries the emerald carried territory, memory and bloodline. It passed through empires, royal courts and sacred ceremonies. In modern markets it was reduced to carats and price per gram.

The house was not built to sell stones. It was built to keep their record: born in Muzo, shaped by lineage, documented from the seam to the invoice.

Some things cannot be manufactured. They can only be found: in the earth, in a tradition, in the hands of someone who learned from someone who remembered.

The Maison

A house born from territory.

Not a company with an about page: a living house, three generations at the source. In the mountains of Boyacá, Colombian emeralds formed in black shale, in veins of calcite and pyrite, a geology unlike that of any other emerald deposit. A territory where nature, time and human knowledge converge.

80

Years at the source.

Generational knowledge in the Colombian emerald districts. Access built through relationships at source: goods that do not necessarily enter the open international market.

Three districts, two belts, one cordillera. Each with its own geology and its own green.

We do not sell stones. We place sixty million years of Colombian territory in your hand, with its name, its seam, and its story intact.

Heritage

Before human hands

Geological time

Tectonic collision, pressure, mineral infusion. The stone slept beneath the Andes for sixty million years. In Muzo, emeralds are not discovered; they are revealed.

Pre-Columbian

The Muisca

To the people of the high Bogotá plateau the stone was not precious because it was rare. It was a fragment of the divine, buried with chieftains as a guide for the passage into the next world.

Colonial to present

Courts, then custody

From the Conquest the emerald travelled to the royal courts of Europe and Asia. Today the house keeps it where it began: in Muzo, with its name and its record.

To know the stone means knowing how to read it.

Colombian at source. Global by reach.

Bogotá, and the markets it serves.

Mexico, Monaco, Taiwan, China, and now the Gulf. Stones travel with their records; the house holds the chain from the district to the invoice.

Private Access

Access to the stones, the archive and the workshop is by application, not by catalogue.

We are looking for people who collect meaning, not status. If that describes you, we would like to meet. Stones are shown in daylight, with their records.
